A killing dialogue
„Kowalski” is part of the omnibus film „4 shorts: Black Heart Histories” (alongside with „Start Anew World”, „Dying from a Wound of Love” and „It Can Pass Through the Wall”). „It was difficult to find a more eclectic collection of short films than this quad of aces that bets everything on one card: death”, said Mihai Chirilov, TIFF Artistic Director. „Kowalski” won the award for Best Short Film at Zagreb International Film Festival in 2014.

Three men walk into a pub. The first man has too many questions. The second man has the perfect plan. The third man has no chance.
In „Kowalski” – the second part of Andrei Creţulescu’s shorts trilogy that was started with “Bad Penny” and finished with “Ramona” – the director maintains the same black humor style and tells a story in which the dialogues are harsh and funny at the same time.
Created in one shot, Andrei Creșulescu’s short film combines the absurd, the black-comedy, the funny, but harsh dialogue and the Tarantino style, in a film where the actors Andi Vasluianu, Dorian Boguță, Șerban Pavlu and Rodica Lazăr complete the atmosphere of a reality already typical of the director’s work.
„We haven’t seen each other since… Since when…? Since Kubelik… Right?
The Kubelik deal…
Say, what’s Kubelik doing these days?
