„The moroi myth” presents the legend of a child murdered unbaptized, whose soul returns in our world to torture his mother to agony, because she is guilty of his death.
One of those shorts that promote the Romanian myths and popular legends that are barely known although there are quite a lot of them. As it is suggested in the end of the movie, the legend tells that zombies (moroi) are those children born by an unmarried girl and buried alive in order not to be stigmatized by the community.
Without dialogue, with powerful and suggestive images, the „The moroi myth” is one of the few Romanian shorts of the horror genre.
