SINOPSIS
ANATHEMA shows a world of intolerance and poverty, a world in which people are not living, but surviving. Two stories of revolt cross paths on the sun burnt fields in the conventional countryside of southern Romania. Teenage Ana returns to her childhood village to bury her grandfather, in her own way. Two local peasants, Lia and Profira, share an unspoken bond in a remote hut in the fields. Every story hides a secret, which if revealed would bring exclusion from their communities.
