
Synopsis
Foreword: “The Inn Among the Hills” (1988), directed by Cristiana Nicolae, is a film adaptation inspired by I.L. Caragiale’s short story “At Mânjoală’s Inn.” The film blends realism with the fantastical, creating an atmosphere of mystery and magical realism.

PLOT SUMMARY
In order to obtain a noble title, Colonel Iordache chooses the reckless nobleman Ștefan as a husband for his daughter, Kira. On his way to his future father-in-law’s manor, Ștefan stops at the Mânjoloaiei Inn, where he discovers a mysterious world and falls in love with the innkeeper’s daughter.
