Alina Grigore (Romania)
She has a bachelor’s degree at UNATC, Bucharest, Acting department, Adrian Titieni’s class. Her debut film was “Happy Ending” directed by Radu Potcoavă. She worked for two years in the USA, being represented by Lily’s Talent Agency (Chicago). She was casted for Romanian directors such as Cristi Puiu and Adrian Sitaru.
In the USA, Alina became passionate about the thinking mechanisms involved in the acting and directing process. Once back in Romania, she founded and ran the Inlight Center – a film and theatre school and production company. In 2016, the school was invited to reveal its methods at Aquila Monroe in L.A., a school run by Deborah Aquila.
It is also the space where Alina and her students practice several methods of analyzing the storytelling process. She started her research in screenwriting and directing with the help of director Adrian Sitaru, with whom she co-wrote and co-worked for the CICAE award-winning film “Illegitim” at the Berlin Film Festival, Forum section, involving some of the school’s students. She was awarded Best Screenplay at the Namur Film Festival, Special Mention for Acting in L’Europe Around Europe and Angela Award for Screenplay and Acting at the Subtitle Film Festival in Ireland.
Alina is an alumni: Berlinale Talents 2018 (directing), LIM 2018 and PLOT 2018. As a director and screenwriter Alina is in postproduction with the feature film, debut – “Blue Moon” and in pre-production with the American film “Femme in the world” starring Oscar winner Melissa Leo.
