Synopsis
Adapted from Mihail Sadoveanu’s 1926 novel. Lizuca is a 6 year old girl whose mother died and whose father is married to a nasty woman.

PLOT SUMMARY
Taken from her grandparents’ house by her stepmother, Lizuca (Diana Muscă), a 5-6 year old girl, is deprived of affection and longs for her grandparents and her deceased mother. Her only consolation is the friendship with her dog, Patrocle.
One day, the little girl decides to leave the place where she endures only humiliation and return to her grandparents’ house near the grove. Surprised by the darkness in the forest, Lizuca falls asleep in a hollow tree. In her dream, the grove transforms into a magical world, populated by creatures and fairy tale characters. In the morning, the little girl is found by her grandparents and taken to the old house.
