Costi, one of the two soldiers of the platoon, came to make the army in Bucharest due to his father’s interventions, believes that the mission of any Romanian, after so many years of dictatorship, is to fight against Ceausescu’s supporters, regardless of the orders of the superiors and supports it. with the spoiled and stubborn air of a ready -made money boy.
He has a controversy with Lieutenant Neagu on this topic and, taking advantage of an altercation between his colleagues and a group of protesters, runs to fight on television, despite the threats and prayers of the lieutenant.
However, the soldier does not reach the television headquarters but in a villa near the television where in a confusion he is taken as a terrorist and arrested by the mixed group of military and civilians who defended the villa, while the rest of the platoon starts in the utopian and risky mission. of Costi, passing through the building under the siege of the television, where Lieutenant Neagu is disarmed and humiliated by a hysterical colonel and eventually reaching home to Costi where the boy’s mother and friend are waiting for concern.
DIRECTOR ABOUT THE FILM
“The paper will be blue does not offer a historical perspective of type History Channel, but aims to return the emotion of those days from the perspective of the small actors of the events. It is the story of losing the innocence of a generation and a popular revolt that has also brought to light what We have better and worse in us. And the spirit of solidarity, but also selfishness and evil, accumulated in decades.” explains Radu Muntean.
“The story is fictional, but it is inspired by what happened to the USLA teams in front of MAPN. Two crews of armored intervention vehicles (the same model as the ones we filmed with) went there and were shoot. After that, their bodies were defiled for a week, because the soldiers had been mistaken for terrorists. They were spat on, cigarette butts were extinguished on them, etc…. Then it was found that they were slaughtered out of a confusion.” (Radu Muntean – Re-Publik 2006)
