Synopsis
A comedy that starts from a simple gag, one with social connotations, though (“They brought fish at Leonida’s!”), exploring the self-ironical and surreal potential of the state of things with fantasy.
More details:
“Pisciculture” is by far the most exciting comedy of those kept in the UNATC Film Archive and made between 1966-1971. Tudor Eliad, the film’s director, not only allows himself to shoot a probably real situation (the lack of fish in the shops of the time) in all sorts of parodic directions, which are more and more absurd, but in this journey he passes – in less than ten minutes – through various genres, constantly making references to cult films of the time (“Reconstruction” of Pintilie or documentaries in narrative style produced in the “Alexandru Sahia” Studios).
