PLOT SUMMARY
At the beginning of the 1940s, a young illegal communist isolates himself in a walled room in order to secretly print, for who knows how long, the clandestine newspaper ”Free Romania”.
WHAT CRITICS SAY:
«In “The Wall” a real ritual of confinement takes place, with consequences – psychological, moral-volitional, physical – of the most diverse. On the other hand, the “hero’s escapes” into memory, dreams, nightmares, and the realities of the war years, project an individual tragedy into the context of a tragic era.» (Călin Căliman, History of Romanian Film)
