DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
“I was happy that Rodica Mandache and Geo Costiniu remained the parents in the film, that Valentin Uritescu, who was 20 years younger at the time, played the role of the grandfather, and, above all, that I had discovered a child prodigy, Octavian, the 6-year-old protagonist. His screen test was astonishing for its precocious intelligence, with lines that simply left you speechless.” Cornel Diaconu

CRITICAL REVIEWS:
The film is a “return”—in this case, of a family living in an urban setting, to the village of their childhood. Seen through the eyes of a child, this “return” is utterly captivating, striking a chord with anyone who left the world of childhood behind long, long ago. – cinemagia.ro
TRIVIA:
- Most of the filming took place in a mountain village in Nehoiu.
- The production was supported by the Communist official Mihai Dulea
- Later, Mihai Dulea demanded that Rodica Mandache’s role be substantially reduced
- Cornel Diaconu is also the author of the controversial documentary “Cenaclu Flacăra – Greetings, Generation in Jeans“, filmed between 1982 and 1983 and centered on the poet Adrian Păunescu
